Students have completed a wide range of health-related internships, including working with the Office of the Legal Counsel at the University`s University Medical Center and a number of global companies headquartered in Arizona, including the Critical Path Institute and the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research. Working with Professors Spece and Sklar, the students were also members of the hospital`s bioethics committee, co-authored papers, and conducted grant-funded research. Law students also participate in the Interprofessional Education Program (IPIP) and train with graduate students in medicine, public health, nursing, and pharmacy in real-world simulations on topics such as pandemic influenza governance and disability rights. The Health Law and Policy program at American University Washington College of Law is a nationally recognized destination for health law, policy, drug/device and compliance studies in Washington, DC. Our curriculum and curriculum connects health law and political scientists from across the country to policy makers and practitioners in the nation`s capital.
